What is the magic that makes Scrum work?

magic Earlier this week, I described how the principals of Six Sigma and the Rational Unified Process only partially worked for Decade. Scrum took what we had learned from other processes and pulled it all together. Now, many are asking: What is the magic that makes Scrum work when other management and engineering processes alone have failed?

In part one of his three-part Agile Advice series on Why Scrum Works , Mark Levison says it's due to three key factors...

  • Scrum delivers value to the business
  • Scrum helps form high performing teams
  • Scrum helps motivate and focus team members

Whereas, Kelly Waters at All About Agile, believes Scrum is nothing more than common sense.

From my perspective, Scrum works because it depends on people trusting other people. Scrum is teamwork made simple.
