Adaptive Processes remove the gunk that slows you down

[Part 4 of 5 tips for empowering your organization to grow]

This week, we've reviewed how truth and transparency build trust. We've reviewed how trust removes office politics and creates a cohesiveness that enforces peer accountability. And we've reviewed how teams can be empowered to self-manage through the use of prioritized goals, aligned per team from management's BEHAG and supporting goals, down to the smallest teams in the smallest departments.

Today, let's review the concept labeled "Adaptive Processes" in the chart above.

Object-oriented Programming introduced to developers the concept of refactoring.

Sections of code are routinely revisited and refined to support code sharing and reuse, faster maintenance and improved quality through easier to read code, and improved product performance.

Six Sigma took the same concept and applied it to processes.

Processes are routinely revisited and refined to support transparency between departments, faster delivery and improved quality through better communication, and improved team performance.

Scrum was the first process to merge the two, using Adaption to improve both coding and teamwork.
