I think I'll do some time-chunking this week!

Scrum SinkingClockdictates focus, prioritization, and transparency—multi-tasking is bad. It clogs your schedule and muddies priorities. Although you feel extremely busy at a constant pace, your are not your most productive. This is a lesson Decade Software Company learned from Scrum.

...but—until we can find a way to make it happen—our management team cannot today work with the same efficiency as a Scrum team. Until we figure out how to do so, my friend Lisa Haneberg has suggested an alternate to multi-tasking—something called chunking.

This is the concept of blocking out chunks of time, shutting down your e-mail, turning off your phone, locking your door, and focusing on one task from your priority list for a time-boxed period.

It's not perfect, but it is an incremental improvement.
