More scaling problems for popular ColdFusion applications

scales If you've been following my discussions regarding why I'm glad EnvisionConnect wasn't created using ColdFusion and/or BlueDragon, you'll be interested in knowing that Skype has admitted that the major crash last week was related to their software's inability to scale.

As Skype's Villu Arak explained...

"...traffic patterns, combined with a large number of reboots, revealed a previously unseen fault...Skype’s peer-to-peer core was not properly tuned to cope with the load...as a result of this disruption, Skype was unavailable to the majority of its users for approximately two days."

As noted previously, scalability is also the biggest problem plaguing the MySpace team.
